The original is pretty good, redux has some extra stuff that to me, it didn't really seem like it was necessary and makes the movie like 4 hours long or something

If you go somewhere that has The Complete Dossier Edition, it contains both versions.
Although I could see Blockbuster splitting this up. 4/15/2007 5:25:53 PM |

i have the redux and 4 hours worth of footage is nonsense, the original is better - you wont miss anything important 4/15/2007 7:10:19 PM |

Original definitely. As a huge fan of the film it was great to see the Redux version with extra footage but the original blows it away.
For what it's worth it didn't win best picture that year, Kramer vs. Kramer did. Ordinary People won over Raging Bull a year later so the academy really knew what they were doing back then 4/15/2007 9:27:32 PM |

Original.
The extra footage really wasn't necessary.
But if I'm not mistaken, isn't there a "view the original" option with the redux DVD? 4/15/2007 9:55:52 PM |

The original is a better film.
That's not to say I don't like all of the extra stuff with Kilgore, but it's not necessary. 4/15/2007 11:35:16 PM |
