i saw the thread for the lighted keyboard, and while i debated just adding to it for my question, it isn't quite what i'm looking for

anyway...i don't quite get the hype over "nice" keyboards, but then i don't do a lot of gaming or anything...i am, however, looking for something of a minimalist keyboard to reduce the amount of space occupied on my desk

what i'd like is a keyboard minus the number pad (i don't use it anyway, and if i REALLY want to, i have a wireless one i can use)...i'd like the keyboard to have volume buttons, but that's all i'd really like on it, if it has other shortcut keys, bonus...i'd like it to be slim, using keys like a laptop board, but this isn't required (i can type faster on laptop keys for whatever reason, and they tend to be quieter)

USB or wireless, i don't really care

i also use a logitech optical trackball, which i love (i guess most people hate trackballs, but i prefer them)...i've found some online that have built-in optical trackballs, and i'm somewhat interested in that possibility, simply because it would really reduce space on my desk

any suggestions? i expect very few (if any) responses to this thread, but i'd appreciate input

See, the only reason I haven't bought one of these is because of the lack of the number pad. Cause otherwise...::droooooool:

So if you're looking for one without a number pad and you don't mind spending an INSANE amount of money on a keyboard...

Where is that one keyboard that you could program an icon onto each button? And vary how they light up and stuff?
