I am trying to sell the Disco and I have someone coming down to look at it. The problem is I can't find the title. Is there anything I can do to sell this vehicle if the buyer agrees to purchase?

yes, go to the dmv downtown. you can request an instant title. it's not cheap though, ~70 bucks or so the last time i did it iirc.

or, you can also do an affadavit of facts form. this states that you, the owner, are selling it to the person. that person can then apply for their own new title. probably the cheapest option.

according to a user on carolinahondas, so take it how you want

^ speaks the truth.

This is how I sold my S-10 and how I bought the VW, thanks to the MVR-4. Plus, it is FREE.

mvr-4 is the duplicate title form. he needs mvr-28 (free) or do mvr-4 for an instant title ($texas). i don't see anywhere on the mvr-4 where you can transfer ownership like an actual title or the mvr-28.

nope. i think you can in other states, but not nc. if you have a vehicle with no title and no access to the previous owner, you have to go through what's called a bonded title process a.k.a royal pain in the ass.

Bump to the top,

anyone know the deal of transferring a motorcycle title from florida to NC? The owner mentioned just signing it and sending it to me. is this correct? do both the buyer and seller have to be present, or can he just mail it to me?

You can apply for a duplicate title and transfer a title on the same form. Call DMV. No instant title to 3-6week wait necissary
