I was just wondering because i just dropped my car off there. Just wondering how good they are. the techs seem knowledgeable enough.

haha no i just dont know any shops round here. Thats the only one i know that would possibly try to fix my problem. I snapped the timing belt and well i was kinda fucked since i had the tow truck and didnt know anywhere to go. Since people on importsnc talked farely well about Phantasm i decided to go there they seem to know what they are doing but i was trying to get others opinion.

take the head off, bring it down to carquest on germantown, spend ~$100, plus ~$200 for t-belt,water pump tensioner and gaskets from t-hoff, and you still come in at less thanthe $1000-1500 they're gonna charge you

underPSI used to work there.

i don't think they're that bad these days. i've heard they do decent mechanical repair work.

people make fun of them (myself included) alot for the kind of aftermarket things they specialize in. they can't help it if their customers want gay stuff though.

that said, i could think of at least two much better places to go for what you need.

I know a couple guys who work there, and they are not bad guy, they are trying to get out from the old stigma of Phantasm, I know Danny is a really good mechanic and Welder, if I took a car to them I think i would trust them to get it done right.

true.. they sell what their customers want... its just business..

but after meeting one of the owners and hanging out with him for the weekend he seems pretty cool and knowledgable..

yeah, really. like they're gonna go "no, i'm sorry i'm not going to sell you that huge ass wing because it's gay. i hate making money".

the people who buy the gay mods are probably the ones who pay the bills and in the end keep the company afloat
