Who wins?
http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tennis/news/story?id=2855114
Almost 2 million just to modify the court.. should be interesting. Are they going to switch sides or stay on their preference?

They should do a dunk contest with Vince Carter on a 10 foot goal vs me on an 8 foot goal.
He'd win, but it would be pretty close. 5/1/2007 4:49:02 PM |

Federer is going to smoke Nadal if he (Federer) is playing on grass. The reason Nadal pwns on clay is because his opponents cannot more on clay like he does.
It'll help Nadal some because the clay will slow down Federer's serve, but overall I don't see how Federer could lose (unless they are switching sides which would make the match much more interesting). 5/1/2007 5:19:40 PM |

This is the stupidest idea I've ever heard. Being on clay is a huge advantage to because it slows down the other players shot, while you would be able to pound away on the fast grass. So this effectively takes away what is good about both surfaces. Less long rallies, and less winners. 5/1/2007 5:50:50 PM |

but you have better footing on grass because the clay slides around under your feet. I would personally rather be on grass that clay. 5/1/2007 6:55:51 PM |

um... its gonna be like that for both, when they switch sides... so that evens it out smarty pants... its whoever can break when on the grass side that will most likely win

I realize that dumb ass. I was saying it is stupid because the games won't be competitive. Switching sides might keep the score close but the actual games will not be, which is why it is a stupid idea. It's like watching Goran Ivanisevic win a match 7-6, 7-6, 7-6. Might as well just watch the tiebreakers.5/1/2007 7:24:12 PM |

I think you are not reading what I said closely. I said the person on clay has a huge advantage, which is true. I never said anything about the match being uneven, just the games. 5/1/2007 7:30:35 PM |

^ Bullshit! When they played at Wimbledon in 2001 Sampras wasn't in his prime but Federer was still very green and won in five sets. I'm not saying Sampras wouldn't beat him but to say he would destroy him is absurd. 5/3/2007 2:39:29 PM |

I do realize how good he was in his prime, I watched countless matches of his from the 1990 U.S. Open to the end of his career. He would not "destroy" Federer on grass even in his prime. 5/3/2007 3:06:13 PM |

Federer is by far an overall better player than Sampras ever was.
And on grass Federer is at least as good as Sampras ever was.
Saying he would destroy Federer is blatantly false. 6/8/2007 7:46:11 PM |
