more mainstream stuff if you are looking for stuff to get into

hardcore:

give up the ghost- year one (best hardcore album ev4r)
carry on- a life less plagued
blacklisted- the beat goes on
comeback kid- turn it around
the hope conspiracy- death knows your name
lifetime- lifetime
saves the day- can't slow down
set your goals- mutiny

metal/metalcore:

isis- panopticon
all shall perish- the price of existence
beloved- failure on
dark tranquility- character
unearth- the oncoming storm
misery signals- mirrors
dillinger escape plan- calculating infinity
poison the well- tear from the red
premonitions of war- left in kowloon

some good smaller bands

prayer for cleansing - rain in endless fall(a classic)
zao - where blood and fire bring rest (also a classic)
and hmm i'd say hopesfall - failty of words / no wings to speak of / satallite years

all of those are pretty solid albums to get you started with the metalcore genre haha.

while your list isnt bad blas, Deicide is the one group that never fails to make me change the channel. everything ive ever heard has absolutely no musical value, even by metal standards.

I'll back up Avenged Sevenfold - City of Evil. I know it's probably not a metalhead's metal, but I'm not a metalhead. All I know is that album is 71 minutes of well-written, well-executed music with no filler.

Flame on.

Not a huge fan of the genre, but Pantera's "vulgar display of power" and "far beyond driven" are two fantastic albums.
