I replaced the oil filter mounting unit. It leaks like crazy now. Does it need a gasket? Not one there before. Just asking before I take the alternator off again. kkthxbye

97 Quest, fucktard -didn't think it mattered in this case. should be a standard yes/no for all cars.

are you sure it needs a gasket? there wasn't one before.

Who be de fucktard, shithead? It's not a standard yes/no for all cars. Do you have any idea how many different engines use some sort of adapter or remote locator? Do you know that many use NO gasket, many use flat fiber gaskets, and many use a GODDAMN O-RING (that is sometimes pretty hard to distinguish/pull out when it's gunked up)?

And then there is such stuff as gasket shellac or case sealer that works wonders between the interface of gasketless parts.

As he stared at her ample bosom, he daydreamed of the dual Stromberg carburetors in his vintage Triumph Spitfire, highly functional yet pleasingly formed, perched prominently on top of the intake manifold, aching for experienced hands, the small knurled caps of the oil dampeners begging to be inspected and adjusted as described in chapter seven of the shop manual.

I don't need to know about the oil filter. I know that has an O-ring. I was referring to the remote locater at the engine block. You're still a fucktard, nevertheless. I know I don't know a lot about cars, but I'm not a dick about it. There is no way there was a gasket on mine and I asked my mechanic who verified it. I'll look into the shellac stuff, though.

Do you mean all Quests, Jeepman?

^^Tongue-in-cheek humor, there, shithead. He meant all cars in general, and yes, he was being sarcastic.

I may be a fucktard, but you're still a shithead.

If you had a mechanic that you asked, why did you come on here?
