shit was leaking and caused my engine to overheat and go out, i also noticed that the battery light come on as well while this happened and maybe that is what caused my engine to shutoff

but i was seeking confirmation of this, or did I have two things going on at once...its a new battery keep in mind

also how much does it cost to fix a leaky coolant system thing, im hoping that that is the root of all the problems and that its an easy and minimal cost fix

sounds like you got bigger eggs to fry than just an alternator or a water leak.

It could cost 5 bucks or it could cost 2000 bucks, or anywhere between, depending on just how bad you fucked it up.

Oh, and by the way...

What goddamn year, make, and model is the goddamn thing?

You've got to be more specific...like somebody said before this could be anything from a $5-$1000's of dollars...here are some things that cause coolant to leak:

busted radiator hoses
leaking radiator
bad water pump
blown head gasket
bad radiator cap
thermostat stuck in the shut poisition

was it leaking gradually or did you go out to your car and it was a puddle underneath your car? its going to hard for anybody to diagnose your problem if you don't get more specific...if you knew it was leaking, you shouldn't have been driving your car, no telling what you have done to the engine...you probably destroyed it, excessive heat to an engine = bad
