Sounds like he got really upset when they didn't get Randy Moss, and he's pissed off at the organization...

It's pretty sad, but all he wants to do is win.

I doubt he really wants out, but when you offer to give up some of your salary to pay for a Randy Moss contract and they STILL don't get him, I bet it's pretty insulting.

Well that makes favre the biggest flip flopper in the NFL. I distinctly remember him throwing his $.02 in when Moss was in Minn. and that story broke about him taking plays off and how Favre didn't repsect that and he'd never play with a guy like that. And now he's angry with Green Bay for not getting him, hmm?

Obviously times have changed and both players want to win.

It's not like it hasn't been at least 3 years and it's not like he's on your team's archrival anymore.

Also, can you blame a guy for taking plays off when playing under Mike Tice or Art Shell?

Oh I don't blame moss one bit, he has gotten a bad rap since draft day in 98, and he realizes there is nothing he can do to win over the public so he just embraces his negative public image, has some fun with it. But for Favre to say he "would never play with a guy like that" or something to that effect (can't exactly remember his words, but very similar to that) means I can't take him seriously anymore. I've always thought of him as a no nonsense guy who shoots from the hip, not so apparently. Oh and division rivals and not wanting to play with him for that reason is not valid in any professional sport, money talks, not "because player X in the NFL/NBA/MLB won't play with player Y because X is in the same division."

Yeah, I know right?

God, I'd be pissed too if I heard that my quarterback was trying to help bring more talent to the team. I mean, there's no possible way that adding an explosive deep threat to the team that requires more than one man covering him would open up more opportunities for the other, less experienced and less talented WRs to make more plays.

^^, Never means never to me, and favre didn't say this in a post game heat of the moment type thing...And it's not like Moss has done a 180 as far as attitude is concerned out in Oakland, in fact he may have gotten worse according to the "experts." So why has Favre all of a sudden gone from being disgusted with a guy like Moss to wanting him so badly that he is "upset" with the front office for not getting him???? My point is that, yea you can change your opinion of someone, but that usually entails that someone changing an aspect of their attitude, in which case, Moss has for the most part not.

Moss has laid low, stayed out of trouble, and has rarely been in the headlines since he went to Oakland.
Thats a good enough change for me when it comes to getting one of the top WR's in the game

He just stopped trying in Oakland. It must be nice having a quitter on your team.

Don't hate the Packers because you're pre-season Super Bowl favorite of a football team can't even make the playoffs.

Also, considering we were significantly closer to making the playoffs last year than Carolina was, I'd say we're worth quite a bit of shit.

As opposed to the Panthers who just are shit.

Yeah because he specifically mentioned the ROOKIE they drafted last year in the same sentence as Donald Driver and Randy Moss.

You must be an idiot.

I know that if I'm Donald Driver, I'm super pissed that they were interested in a wide receiver with a completely different skillset from me that also demands double coverage.

SUPER PISSED.

funny...if the panthers had pulled out a win in superbowl 38 delhomme would be favre...they've got a lot in common...when they're on, they're on...but they also arent afraid to make the dumb pass...but since the patriots won sb38, delhomme gets shitted on for a 40 year old qb from fsu while favre continues to put his selfish faggot self above the whole packers organization...all the packers fans think favre is one of the best ever, when in reality he isnt sniffing the jocks of joe montana, john elway, tom brady, etc

A Giants loss meant the Packers were in.

The Panthers needed abourt 4 teams to win, 3 more to lose, and then a hail mary to get in.

So yes, significantly closer. No need for the quotes.

Aha, you are using the NFL's arcane tiebreaker rules as justification that the Packers were a better team than the Panthers last year, despite the fact that they finished with the same record and the Panthers had a much tougher schedule.

What a fucking joke.

"Brett Favre Demands Trade To 1996 Packers
May 17, 2007

GREEN BAY—Three-time MVP and undisputed future Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre, disappointed with the Packers' refusal to aggressively pursue receiver Randy Moss and frustrated with his team's apparent indifference to making immediate improvements on offense, is demanding a trade to the team he feels will give him the best shot at winning a last Super Bowl ring before his retirement: the 1996 Green Bay Packers.

"I just don't think this Packer team, and GM Ted Thompson especially, is thinking in terms of winning with me," said Favre, speaking to reporters at his charity golf tournament in Mississippi Sunday. "On the other hand, 1996 Packers GM Ron Wolf is committed to building the team completely around me. I don't think it's out of the question to say that with me behind center, the 1996 Packers are looking at going all the way to the Super Bowl."

Early reports had indicated that Favre was so upset that his team failed to close a draft-day deal for Randy Moss with the Oakland Raiders that his agent called Packers GM Ted Thompson and requested a trade to a team with capable receivers.

"Nothing against Donald [Driver] and Greg [Jennings], but if I can't throw it to Randy Moss, then I want to throw it to Antonio Freeman, Robert Brooks, and Don Beebe," Favre said. "I bet with them, I'd have more of a chance of throwing for, say, 3,899 yards and 39 touchdowns, with maybe as few as 13 interceptions. Who knows? That kind of production could even get me another MVP award, although of course that's much less important than leading the '96 Pack to another Super Bowl victory."

Favre also noted that, unlike the young and unproven 2007 Packers, the 1996 Packers boasted seasoned veterans on both sides of the ball.

"It sure would be great to play alongside Reggie White again—I get chills just thinking about seeing him in the locker room," Favre said. "That whole '96 defense is great, too. Santana Dotson is a force in the middle. That LeRoy Butler, I tell you, he's one of the most underrated safeties in the game. Desmond Howard isn't a bad kick returner, either. And unlike the Packer backfield I got now, the '96 Packers still feature William Henderson at fullback."

"Mark Chmura, though, I don't know," Favre admitted. "Decent tight end, but something about him isn't quite right."

In addition to the more elite personnel, Favre praised the aggressive attitude of the coaching squad and front office of the Packers of 1996, saying he was a fan of head coach Mike Holmgren's West Coast offense and Wolf's aggressive recruiting strategies.

"I think Holmgren and I would make an interesting team," Favre said. "He could teach me a lot. We could learn from each other. And I know Ron Wolf would have my back. If, say, our number-one receiver gets knocked out for the season in Week 7, I believe Wolf would go right after a great veteran free agent, like maybe Andre Rison, to give us an edge in the playoffs. I can almost guarantee that."

"It would really be something," Favre said. "We'd be one of the all-time great teams, a once-in-a-lifetime thing, you know? I'm going to have my agent look into it right away."

Although the Packers had no immediate comment, head coach Mike McCarthy said the team would be "heartbroken" to part with its greatest player, although in deference to Favre's long service, and for the good of the current team, they would be willing to consider a trade package including a first-round pick in the 2008 NFL draft and the 1996 Brett Favre."
