I'm just discovering that I like some of the songs by bands like Massive Attack, Morcheeba, and Portishead. Do you guys have any faves or suggestions?

Morcheeba's stuff was much better when Skye Davis was singing. So you should check out any/all albums you haven't heard of theirs before she left. Big Calm and Who Can You Trust? are best.

There's also Kruder & Dorfmeister, Thievery Corporation, Air, Under Byen, Lamb, Röyksopp (but only Melody AM, The Understanding is more dance).

Tricky - "Singing the Blues," "Broken Homes," "Talk to Me," "Keep Your Mouth Shut," "Black Coffee," "Judas," "Children's Story."

Halou - "Milkdrunk," "Wiser," "Oceanwide," "We Only Love You," "Le Mer," "I'll Carry You," "The Ratio of Freckles to Stars."

Denali - "French Mistake," "Prozac," "Relief," "Gunner," "Lose Me," "Hold Your Breath," "Welcome," "Nullaby."

Sneaker Pimps - YOU GOT THAT ONE DAWG!

Hooverphonic - "Battersea," "Lung," "Magenta," "Club Monterpulciano," "Everytime We Live Together We Die a Bit More."

Lovage - The whole album. But "Stroker Ace" is the bomb.

U.N.K.L.E. - "Lonely Soul," "Rabbit In Your Headlights," "Celestial Annihilation," "Guns Blazing."

k&D - the K&D Sessions is really good
Smith and Mighty
Everything But The Girl
UNKLE
Baby Namboos

I didn't claim that it was [new]... just new to me. I was listening to some other stuff during that time. Lately I've just heard several of these songs and found that when I looked them up on itunes that the same "listeners also bought" bands kept popping up and a pattern emerged.

cardigans is good stuff.

singer is kind of hot.

i'd say gran tourismo was their best album, though I'll admit I haven't heard some of the newer stuff.

Hooverphonic - "Blue Wonder Power Milk" or "New Streophonic Sound " is great.

Red Snapper - "Making Bones" is incredible and groovy.

Check out Lamb too.....very similar to Portishead.

Massive Attack - mezzanine is awesome.
