Why would we have objections to somebody else's schedule?

You might get pretty lost in thermo 2 after lyons, try for boles. And see if you can get Lu for 370.

Jpark:

I had J. Tu for 315 and he was absolutely horrible. Tran is a cool dude, I'm sure he'd be ten times better.

Also, Arroway for Stat. is a great choice. She is nice, fair, and explains the stuff really well. If you pay attention and study a little you should be able to make an A. Make sure to do a good job on the project, which is pretty easy.

^ cool. thanks for the USEFUL input

now it looks like Lyons is not a good professor for thermo 1 ? who should i get into to actually learn it? i dont just want to get an A in the class; i want to get an A and actually learn the material.

ST 370 - P. Arroway

Great class, you will have great fun. Make sure to hit on the teacher occasionally, keeps things interesting.

no matter who you have for 315 its going to suck

tran is a cool dude, but he's tough. really tough

tu is also cool and he gives all multiple choice tests, plus at the end of the semester, if your average is above the class average you automatically have a B in the class. just dont expect to learn much

if wu or ro are teaching it avoid them

boles is the best thermo teacher

This is gonna be as important as 'what is the easiest class' so...just from my experience on who actually teaches the stuff for 300's and does it decently i.e. not ridiculously hard:
Boles for 301, 302
Ro for 315
Ma, maybe Gould for 308, both grade harsh, or used to.

The classes you learn the most out of are usually not the easiest IMO, I guess I'm more used to trial and error.

Take a gander at school tool on here and the GDR on ncsu's site for more details

I had Echekki for 301 and Boles for 302. Probably learned about the same in both, but Boles was much better at presenting the material in an organized fashion.

Had Gould for 308 and he was great. Very organized, told you exactly what he expected you to know, gave back tests the next class. And I thought he graded very fairly.

Had Ro for 315 and at times didn't feel like I was learning anything. But as time went on I understood things better and ended up with an A-

so from what i can gather....

Tran is a cool professor.
Boles is a good professor for thermo.
Ro will teach the material.
Arroway is straight. (no pun intended there )

So looks like I got it down but im a little shaky for thermo. So i should take Boles if i want to learn the material?

^ If you can take Boles for Thermo, then by all means, do so. So I've heard. I never actually had him, but wish I did.

lyons is not a good lecturer. he's boring and tends to talk about things other than thermo. he does curve decently, though.

so i basically just taught myself thermo...lyons for 301 and echekki for 302 were fairly worthless teachers, in my opinion. i wish i could've had boles

Never had Lyons or Ma, but Tran is a pretty good professor. He's tough, but the more you put into that class, the better off you will be. Dr. Tran loves for people to come ask him for help (that was my experience when I had him when I was in school). He's usually pretty helpful. Other than that, I dunno. You have your work cut out for you
