Just saw it tonight.
Gotta say, when Snow White busted out with "The Immigrant Song," I almost died laughing. 5/29/2007 11:24:54 PM |

From the parts I saw there are a lot of "You have terrible morning breath... I know, isn't it wonderful" whaddaya know ogres like stuff we think is gross jokes. Fart, vomit, burp jokes. It's funny because they did it in the first two movies jokes. Etc.5/30/2007 8:08:39 AM |

You are aware that this is a children's movie, right? Are you seriously lamenting the fact that the humor isn't sophisticated enough for you, someone who is in college? 5/30/2007 8:59:38 AM |

^You do realize that many "children's movies" of late have had the ability to appeal to a wider audience? Incredibles, Toy Story, Over the Hedge, etc., etc., etc. have all been movies that parents could enjoy alongside their children. Besides, I was answering the question. 5/30/2007 9:09:28 AM |

yeah I must admit that I wasn't too terribly impressed with this movie either. I liked Shrek 2 a lot more but, that's just me... It was kind of played out with stale jokes and underdeveloped plot lines... I thought the whole Arthur thing could have been expanded but did enjoy the senile merlin! 5/30/2007 9:51:10 AM |

Everyone I know that saw it, said they had a lot more adult jokes and most of them went over the kids' heads.. 5/30/2007 9:39:35 PM |

Honestly, this movie sucks. Anyone that says otherwise is just conceeding that it's good because it has the word Shrek in the name.
The writing is terrible. The jokes are terrible. And the movie somehow manages to seem like it's dragging ass and racing the clock at the same time.
The only redeeming factors are the animation, which is incredible.
That and the gingerbread man montage. That was classic. 5/31/2007 4:40:55 PM |

Definitely not as fresh as the first one - not sure if it's because of old jokes or just that the style of humor is played out (as in, in all the other Mike Myers movies). It's worth seeing, but only if you've got nothing better to do and don't have to fork out movie prices to do so.
After considering, I think it feels rehashed because none of the characters have really grown. In each Shrek movie, the social positions of the characters have advanced, but the characters' growth have almost reset at the beginning of each movie. So as a result, we get the same kind of ogre/fish out of water punchlines and plotlines that we've seen already. 5/31/2007 5:15:19 PM |
