I was wondering... I have a lot of programs that spit out log files whenever they're running. Let's say I have a windows program that spits out a log of my cell phone activity whenever I'm using it as a modem (ghetto broadband, $20/month) to a .txt file, and I wanted it to alert me whenever certain content shows up on the log. I can't control the output stream of the program, but the .txt file isn't protected or anything while it's being written... it's always available and always growing as long as the program is up and running.

It would be nice if every time the log shows a text string "some_text", I could call for a sound file to be played. Anything out there that could do this? I'm too lazy to write the script myself this time... and I wouldn't know how to handle the constantly growing file since I usually terminate my scripts once EOF is reached.
