"Keyshawn Johnson has declined an offer from the Tennessee Titans and has decided to retire.

The wide receiver, who also expected to receive an offer from the Oakland Raiders, is expected to announce his decision at a Wednesday afternoon news conference at his alma mater of USC, his agent, Jerome Stanley, told ESPN.com's John Clayton.

Johnson will pursue a broadcasting career with ESPN. "

He was already on Best Damn Sports Show every other day.

I expected him to go there as a full time guy.

Good god, I foresee a tandem of sportscasters that will have America quaking in its boots....

Mike Irvin + Keyshawn Johnson.......... OMFG

If they throw those two together with Stephen A. Smith then a mass suicide will ensue....

Add in Stewart Scott to the mix.. and we're talking Armageddon...

Irvin sucks, and Steven A is annoying, but I don't see what you have against Keyshawn.

Yeah but Keyshawn is much more likable of a loudmouth egomaniac.

[Edited on May 23, 2007 at 4:52 PM. Reason : and I don't dislike Irvin, I just thought he wasn't that good]

espn already rehired parcells, and i'm assuming he'll get his old job back on NFL countdown. that would fill michael irvin's void. unless they increase that broadcasting crew, where does keyshawn fit in?

Keyshawn is an excellent speaker when he is broadcasting. it isn't like shannon sharp or michael irving who who stumble over their words. KJ is pretty fluent and I was surprised when I saw him during draft coverage.

The thing. I hate. About. Michael. Irvin. Is that. He always. Does this. And. Accents. Every. Single. Word.

And to show that it isn't a racial thing, you can throw Terry Bradshaw in there too.

no..... all is already lost...
....he is somehow already deeply embedded into the future of ESPN NFL sportscasts....
.. .these are the very sportscasts that we all know we will end up watching somehow... alot.....

.....accept Keyshawn and his abnormally white teeth....

...before its too late....

Keyshawn will be playing for an NFL team within the next two seasons (and perhaps even this season)

He's a gloryhound with a little left in the tank.

No one "retires" anymore until they're on empty because teams use the emergency callup button if they need something
