"White skips minicamp
Coach Jeff Fisher unhappy with troubled Titans RB

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Tennessee Titans running back LenDale White did not make it back in time for Tuesday's organized team activities, leaving Coach Jeff Fisher unclear on his whereabouts and unhappy about the situation.

"Everybody else managed to make it back," Fisher said. "He didn't, so I don't know, I guess he had things that are more important to him than what we're doing. I would assume he would be back at some point today."

White, a second-round pick from Southern California last season, has had other issues this offseason, reporting for the Titans' offseason program at approximately 260 pounds, then suffering a hamstring injury that has kept him off the field during the team's minicamps.

Fisher said he had not spoken directly to White but did receive a telephone message from the running back about his absence.

"He made an attempt. He said he had some kind of flight problems or something like that. No one else had anything like that," Fisher said.

White is expected to battle 2007 second-round pick Chris Henry for the starting running back job. Fisher hinted Tuesday that White's absence and his other assorted issues could be hurting his chance to claim the first-team role.

"He'll get on the field eventually. I just hope it's not going to be too late," Fisher said.

Fisher said he hoped White would be able to be on the field Thursday, a practice session that is not open to the media.

"I've been on record with being disappointed with him right now," Fisher said. "I hope to have him back on the practice field Thursday. But again, everybody else was here, he wasn't. I'm anxious to hear what kind of excuse he has."

Henry, a rookie from Arizona, said he is simply trying to improve in his own right as he vies for the starting role.

"I'm just coming out every day and practicing and trying to get used to the speed of things," Henry said. "I got out every day with the same mentality of just to work hard."

Everybody loves to talk about the USC - Texas national championship game and ignore all those other games that Bush starred in.

thats because most people care more about the biggest games against the best opponents...not seeing Reggie outrun some white boys from Arizona in October

^^Bush had a pretty sick 4th Quarter of that Texas game IIRC..when he was on the sidelines, not playing

that was because we thought DeAngelo Willams wouldn't fall that far. Everybody projected him to be a top-15 pick. I would pick Williams over White any day.

revisionist history, Bush had a good game against Texas sans the fumble where he tried to do a little too much...

USC offense dominated the texas defense so im not sure what he did wrong really

vince young proved that game that he could do it in crunch time

^yeah it was a dumbass lateral..."fumble" ok i guess whittenburg to charles wasnt a missed shot

Tree's right about this.

Vince may be as dumb as a brick but I'd rather have the ball in his hands with the game on the line than Bush.

You guys are funny, when Andre Brown runs over a D1-AA player people post about it nonstop for weeks but Bush puts together some of the most amazing plays ever over the course of two seasons and you feel the need to discredit the runs...

If Bush had been at NC State, they'd take Rivers jersey down to make room

bush isnt at nc state so what the fuck does that have to do with him pussying out in the 4th quarter of the national title game

he's fast and he's flashy...you ate that shit up with vick until you realized he couldnt pass for shit...the verdict is still out on reggie's nfl abilities but in the biggest game of his college career he chose to bitch out on the sidelines during the 4th quarter

Bush is an amazing player.

But he would have been a lot less effective if Lendale wasn't carrying the heavy part of the load.

That's the only point most are trying to make.

I dont recall Bush being the one calling the plays. I doubt he took himself out of the game. They chose to attack with Lendale instead.

You're right Bush knows NOTHING about big games. USC never won anything while he was there.

He should learn from Rivers big game accomplishments instead like that time we won the Tangerine Bowl against the powerhouse Kansas Jayhawks

again, go back to comparing him to NC State even though that has nothing to do with anything relevant

"Bush isn't that great? Oh yeah, well he's better than NC State!"

You probably think Reggie Bush is the reason the Saints made it to the NFC Title game, and not a combination of Bush, Brees, Colston, Deuce, etc

im just saying its hilarious to hate on Reggie Bush like he wasn't all that....
when Rivers was a ONE TIME first team all conference QB and he is given godlike stature on these boards...

Bush was the national player of the year for gods sake

comparing Rivers to Bush would be like a UNC fan comparing Rasheed Wallace to David Thompson

you know this is an NC State messageboard, right? forgive us for not sucking off Roy Williams' cock either just because he's been national coach of the year

On the biggest stage, Reggie had stagefright...Lendale had 3 TDs...if USC had won that game Lendale wouldve been a top 10 pick

^^LOL, what the fuck are you rambling about?

Troll bait not taken.

back on topic.

Lendale is a fat sack of shit. Character issues are what made him drop in the draft, and it turns out that teams had reason for concern.

as long as Bush has "protection" in the form of a bruiser like Deuce (who can/will play half the game) he'll be great......but within the first few games of him being a full time tailback, he'll be out with a major injury imo. Doesn't mean he isn't a great player, just not a full time back.

"White explains absence
Fisher later calls it misunderstanding

By JIM WYATT
Staff Writer

Titans running back LenDale White created a stir at Baptist Sports Park on Tuesday without even being there, but Coach Jeff Fisher later said the second-year pro's no-show was the result of a misunderstanding.

White, who is being counted on for a significant number of carries this fall, hasn't practiced during minicamps due to hamstring injury but has been on hand for rehab. Although many players left town for the Memorial Day weekend, all but White showed up for Tuesday's organized workout.

White left a message on Fisher's voicemail saying he had difficulties catching a flight from Denver, but the coach and several Titans sounded off about White's absence after practice.

"I'm anxious to hear what kind of excuse he has,'' Fisher said.

Later Fisher found out that White had stayed in Denver to be with his grandmother, Sharon White, who was recently released from intensive care after suffering problems ranging from kidney failure to heart failure.

"Organized team activities are voluntary, they are not mandatory. However, we have had perfect attendance with very few exceptions," Fisher said. "When there is someone who is not in attendance, they typically have been excused. In order to excuse a player there has to be some kind of communication involved, and in this particular case there was a misunderstanding in communication. … He had family matters to take care of which I have since been informed about. He will be back in the building (today).''

Herman White, the player's uncle and Sharon White's son, said his nephew was at his grandmother's bedside in a Denver nursing home on Tuesday morning.

"It's not like he is fabricating things,'' Herman White said. "If I didn't know he was at his grandmom's bedside I might be questioning what he's doing, too. But I am not going to tell him, 'Don't be concerned about my mom.' She is very important to him.""
