there is a weekly called 'switch' at the berkeley every tuesday night. it took the place of 'easy' and does not have a cover.

there is 'repo' at the big easy on monday nights.

there is stuff at mosquito on wednesday nights.

other than that there are parties on the weekends. check the events section of http://www.ncdnb.com/forum

that berkeley cafe thing is only cool when they have djs that play house, which isn't often

dnb might be the most boring thing ever
