Does anyone know how much the newer Downtown Condos are renting for. I know there are some on Dawson near Flying Saucer...I assume some of those are rented but I couldn't find anything availible online. 6/1/2007 10:29:48 AM |

Might try craig's list. I usually see a lot of condos for rent on there. 6/1/2007 2:36:52 PM |

that 950 is about right.. i saw one on craigslist a while back.. interestingly enough, it was in the office/commercial section of real estate 6/1/2007 3:11:54 PM |

^^I saw it on a real estate website and then contacted them about it. Was really thinking about moving there but then I decided it was too much when I factored in how much more I would go to bars then I already do now.
Also, I would look at those new places above bogarts/hi-five. One of my friends had a friend whose parents owned one and there tight as hell. I would assume they also rent them out.
This is probably a search you want to do in person by going to the condos and getting the management/owners numbers and then contacting them about rent prices.

The places above Bogarts are extremely pricey, from what I have seen. I would love to get into one though. Most of them are owned privately now, anyways. Why can't everyone just post rentals all in the same place. 6/1/2007 4:17:26 PM |

Yeah I wonder how much those highrise joints will rent for...like RBC towers. I would think 1 bedrooms would have to be $1800+ just for the owners to break even. Maybe even more than that if condo fees are a couple hundred a month. 6/1/2007 4:45:50 PM |

i can't believe people are buying the condo's, much less renting them for 1000 dollars a damn month. You can buy a HOUSE within a 1/2 mile of downtown for considerably less. 6/2/2007 9:51:21 PM |

my stepsister is looking to rent a place for less than $900 a month. she lives in DC now and thats how much she spends. anyone know of any good condo's or apartments that she should look at? she is 35 i think so she probably wouldn't like any of the college places. 6/3/2007 4:59:53 PM |

^^Im talking about buying a house within 5 blocks of downtown. I don't understand why in God's name anyone would buy one of those downtown apartments unless they just really hate having a yard or privacy. 6/3/2007 5:10:09 PM |

You know the drill... people want to live in the trendiest, most metropolitan areas and will pay through the nose for it. Being able to stumble home from any of the ultra-trendy Glenwood South bars is worth a lot, apparently.
Personally, I think buying one of those condos is just retarded, unless you plan on renting it out for a jacked-up price to stupid twenty-somethings with more money than sense. 6/3/2007 5:16:36 PM |

I used to live downtown, in one of the older buildings. It was gggreeeatt! rent was $725 for 1000 sq. ft. 1 bed 1 bath. The new ones rent for about 1200++ a month, 1 bed 1.5 bath. 6/3/2007 5:37:33 PM |

725 is awesome, most 1 bedrooms in shitty areas are at least 600 or so 6/4/2007 12:28:26 AM |
