just register at places like home depot or lowes and target just for gift cards, that way you can get stuff for your house that you want, and aren't forced to register for the standard toaster oven, blender, etc. i registered at pottery barn for decorative stuff bc i knew that was a store that i wouldn't buy stuff for myself at.

used hotel points and airline miles for the room/flight which i never would have paid what they cost - but for the first class tix and our room that alone would have been 10k

while we were there we spent about 2k but we didn't skimp on anything really - it could be done much much cheaper

^^We're pretty fucking cheap, so I'm hopeful. I don't think we'd go to the touristy areas either, I think we'd be more inclined to hit up rural areas.
