I've been playing in a league with the same 10 guys for about 6 years on Yahoo! and this past season when we were all hanging out we decided we would move to a keeper league just to spice things up a bit. I was wondering from your personal experiences which host had the best keeper league. Based on functionality, reliability, scoring, and speed of the website and whatever you guys think is well done about the site.

I am amazed you made it 6 years without keepers, they are BY FAR the best option in fantasy leagues because they make the seasons actually connect, things that happen one year can affect the next etc, it not just a bunch of individual seasons.

We have always used Yahoo just because I like how clean and uncluttered they are and just use the first 2 rounds of the draft for everyone to pick up their keepers and then the actual draft would start in round 3. However, the last 3-4 years we did the draft in person which is a LOT more fun and then just entered the info. into yahoo later.

Jaybee, my league is going to hold an in person draft this year. Any ideas on how to do this?

What exactly do you need in order to make it run smoothly?

^^nm, keepers wouldn't actually start till 09. I like that idea a bit better.

we love yahoo thats why we've never moved and we have talked about doing an in person draft this year too

the manager of Playmakers is one of our owners so for the first few years we did it there, with a laptop hooked up to one of the big screens, ordered from the bar etc. It was fun, but a little hectic for whoever was in charge of running the laptop (putting in the picks, keeping track of time etc).

Last year we cooked out at my place and did it with one of the draft kits and that was a lot of fun, and the draft kits are definitely worth it. They give you a big board and then color coded stick on name labels with all of the players' names already printed out. I think the kit was around $25 and we just divided that up by the number of owners and added it to the league price, definitely worth it. It was more fun seeing someone walk up to the board and put up a name and get jeered/laughed at than it was just having someone yell out a name and someone else type it in... (yeah, I admit I am a total fantasy geek, you bitches have Guitar Hero, DDR, etc, I got this).

It helps if whoever is hosting has wifi, and we usually did either 3 or 5 minutes a pick, cant remember, I think 3...

I cant remember, I think off of ebay, I got the info saved somehwere... be careful on there though, some of them sell them really cheap but when you look closer you notice that they have 2006 rosters instead of this years, dont have the rookies, etc.

The one we used was really nice, had a really thick, quality draft board, wasnt at all flimsy, had the players color coded by position, names written really big etc.
