This was a category 4 storm yesturday when i woke up and has severely weakened since scraping the coast of oman but it is still a well organized storm with the surge of a much more powerful storm. It was looking like it could affect dubai big a day or two ago but it will scoot on by uae and hit Iran. This is an unsual area to see cyclones because they usually tend to track west to east far south of this region or hit india. The dry desert air is choking it even though its over the hot persian gulf waters (water temps in the 90s )

I don't know how unusal this even is but i thought it was unusual enough to share with you guys since most people never pay attention to the indian season anyway. I pay close attention to both pacifics and the atlantic but there just isn't much on the northern indian season since india is the only government monitoring it. I always glance at the indian tracks and i've never noticed one this far northwest. Tropical storms making it to Oman is not that uncommon but they are rarely hurricanes and even then they are always headed due west instead of due north into the gulf and uae/iran.

^^^even though it quickly weakened thats just the winds. the surge it worked up as a cat 4 doesn't just go away when the winds weaken and the storm is still widespread and organized the winds in a few mile area near the eye just aren't that strong anymore.

Yeah, no shit... he didn't disover/invent something, now did he?

EVERY piece of knowledge is found somehwere, whether in print, interent, tv, radio, whatever.

But he bothered to learn about it, and more importantly, seems excited to learn it and SHARE IT. How many people bother to learn about something happening in the world that doesn't affect them?

There aren't many people like him.
