I keep receiving the same e-mail every time I open Outlook. It is a 5mb group of digital photos from a person known to me. Nothing else comes through even though I know there are other e-mails to follow. Is this a problem on my end or the sender's? I have run a virus scan and it's clean. What's going on?

recheck all your settings on outlook. It's possible outlook is grabing that email multiple times from the server everytime it logs in.

Oh and check your quota maybe? Most people don't realize you can go to webmail.ncsu.edu and then settings and allocate like 200-300 megs for email instead of the basic 50.

Thanks for the suggestion although I don't know what setting to check to keep it from grabbing multiples of the same message. I did find a setting that allows only descriptions of files greater than 50kb. After selecting this I have been able to download other e-mails. I dohn't know if I've solved the actual problem.

Are you popping your mail? Most likely what is happening is there is a large amount of mail stored on the server and you are partially downloading it every time and it is timing out and not sending the proper message to the server to delete it. So next time the exact same thing happens. If you have shell access to your mail server, try logging on and deleting the message manually, or if I'm talking over your head, contact your mail server administrator (ISP Tech Support, most likely) and have them delete the message by for you.

Question... how is the account setup in Outlook? POP or IMAP? Is this your NCSU Unity account mail?

The account is set up as a POP and is not an ncsu account. When I canceled the download limit, it went back to timing out. I reset it at 500kb this time and mail went through. Thanks one and all. Got to go. Will call Bellsouth tech this pm. Thanks for your suggestions.
