It happens like every minute! It freezes up for a few seconds and whatever I'm typing or doing ends up showing up later. It's really annoying when I'm trying to do work.

It just started happening a couple days ago. I don't know much about computer so I'm hoping someone can give me some insight!!

Thanks

Never heard of that one.

I'd go to http://www.ncsu.edu/resnet and click on the "security" link at the top. Get and install Norton AV if you don't have it already, then install and run Spybot S&D until it comes up clean. Some nasty spyware requires you to reboot, then let Spybot clean it before Windows starts up completely.

That should eliminate the most common cause for this kind of thing. As another test - unplug your network connection. If it runs any better, it's definitely spyware.

Ok so it's a couple days later and I have done the spybot thing and all that, yet my computer still keeps freezing up. It really is driving me nuts because I can't be as productive as I'd like

Anyone know of some other things I can check on to see why it's doing that?

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/utilities/ProcessExplorer.mspx

right-click/terminate each process one by one, take particular note if it is using lots of cpu or ram ... when the system returns to a stable form, now you know which process is causing the problem.

tell us what you find and we'll tell you what else to do.
