Anyone done this? I think it's behind the glove box... any strategies on how to get there?

PRETTY SIMPLE, THOUGH YOU SHOULDNT NEED TO CHANGE IT ALREADY

1) OPEN THE BOX, UNLATCH THE HOOK ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BOX, THIS ALLOWS THE BOX TO DROP DOWN AND REST ON THE INNER LINING HOOKS/FOLDS

2) THEN YOU HAVE TO PULL IN THE INNER LINING OF THE BOX, THIS ALLOWS THE GLOVE BOX TO DROP DOWN FREELY, PAST THE INNER FOLDS (MIGHT WANT TO TAKE OUT ALL YOUR STUFF AS IT WILL FALL ALL THE WAY TO THE GROUND)

THEN YOU ARE RIGHT THERE, UNLATCH AND PULL OUT, THERE WILL ONLY BE ONE.

damn, thanks. The dealer was going to charge me $150 for it. The part is only $15. I told them I'd do it myself.

^ are you freaking serious $175 is what the dealer wants for that.

I could open my own garage changing cabin filters and be filthy rich

^^^ Exactly. It's a 2 minute job.

I replaced mine around 35k. Autopark Honda wanted to change it along with the engine air filter (10 minute job), plus oil change and rotation as part of the "30k service package". They wanted $350.

And no, there were no instructions. All you need to know is "behind the glovebox".

its a pain in the ass on a 97 cr-v and almost worth paying too much just to not suffer through.

mine has more of a pollen collector that just dumps it at you in a concentrated blast

I always wondered if my Wrangler had a pollen filter. That would just be funny since the interior was damn near yellow for a few weeks each year.

Yeah, it was autopark honda that tried to rip me off. I've taken my car there for all of my oil changes since I bought it there (1 year ago/30,000mi ago).

I will never go back. Not after that. Yeah, I can eat a $40 oil change when it costs $30. But not $150 for the damned pollen filter.
