I wasn't in the Libby thread, but a friend of mine made the same argument to me a few days ago, to which I pointed out:

Sandy Berger pled guilty in criminal court to misdemeanors charges, in a deal arranged by US Attorneys appointed by the current president. Berger was fined 50k, ordered to complete 100 years of community service, serve two years probation and lost his security credentials. This was back in Sept. 2005.

Edit: To be clear, I'm not arguing for or against Berger's sentence...just that I don't think the situations are comparable.

Thanks for the clarification of something I can read pretty clearly. However, if you'll review what I posted, you'll note that I was responding your second post in this thread, which suggested that this case bore a resemblance to the Libby case. I don't think it does.

Oh, and in addition, remember: Sandy Berger hasn't practice law in 15 years.
