Not totally surprised, we heard rumors this was going to happen for at least a year now, and the recent sale of aston martin solidified the rumors.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Jaguar, if it goes away from the UK like TVR did a lot of guys at a lot of pubs will be dropping tears in their pints. Even after Ford picked them up most of them were still very much Jaguars, excluding the S/X Types. Not so much with Rover, most everyone is used to them not being really purebred british anymore, since different companies have been playing hot potato with Rover over the last 10 years.
There are also rumors of LR making major changes to the brand, dropping the lesser models and going all out on the Range Rover to put it in the top luxury bracket, the SUV equivalent of a Rolls or Bentley. 6/11/2007 12:01:26 PM |

China bought MG Rover. TVR was bought buy a Russian. It's given that Land Rover and Jaguar are bigger than those too, but who knows?
That was cute though I saw you did there. 6/11/2007 12:12:36 PM |

^TVR is no longer owned by that Russian guy. I believe its back in the hands of a Brit. I'll check on that, it was mentioned UpFront in last month's C&D. 6/11/2007 1:11:34 PM |
