whats the best method for high quality, i need to do some editing also

i have about 12 hours of digtal 8 film that can be condensed to about 4 hours or the most i can fit on 2 dvds, but video capture on my computer via streaming usb from the camera hasnt always been the best of quality, and it takes a shitload of drive space, last time i did this much it was the good part of a 300GB drive

you need more hard drive space, then do it piece by piece

Use firewire and any video editing app like iMovie or Windows Movie Maker will do it.

It should be around 5 minutes/GB which means 10 GB will be almost an hour of video... shouldn't be too much space.

But, it'll take a while to encode to DVD format from there.
