So I'm moving to some apartments at Briar Creek soon. Where should I go out in that area? I'm sure as hell not driving to Glenwood south from all the way up there.

Ale House is good, and I know there are some others around there I haven't been to, like Oliver Twist. Or just go to airport bars and get the lonesome laaadies.

need:
bojo's
cookout
a small sporting goods store (dicks just doesn't cut it for swimming, tennis, and shoes)
on that point, a decent shoe store (not some fucking rackroom shit)
bestbuy/circuit city
another bar sort of place (like a Brixx Pizza or something)
a bakery / cafe combo....
either a Kroger's or Harris Teeter's
a Whole Foods
ABC store

bojangles is about 5 minutes down 70 (by carmax)
there's a panera over by wal-mart
and isnt there some place called earth fare.. is that a whole-foods type grocery store?

there are two bojangle's within a few miles from brier creek (miami blvld down 70, and glenwood just before carmax)

most of the rest of what you're looking for:

http://www.shopbriercreekcommons.com/merchants.html

bakery/cafe - panera is the closest thing, and jason's deli has some of that stuff too

there's a place just like whole foods as well, but i can't remember the name of it, it's down brier creek parkway in the shopping center that's just past the main brier creek area. EARTH FARE (thx beethead)

Closest electronics store is the best buy at southpoint
Closest ABC store is, unfortunately, Millbrook
Harris Teeter @ leesvile&Strickland -- oddly enough the lowe's foods there is SHIT. There's another lowe's foods in the same shopping center as Ben's Place, and it's as "nice" as a typical Harris Teeter.

I'm kinda moving to this area...corner of Millbrook and Glenwood. I didn't realize Lynnwood Grill was anything special...it just looked like a strip mall burger joint when I drove by.

I trust you got your "Welcome to the suburbs!" kit when you moved in...that should have all you need to get started with the pleasantly comfortable and completely uneventful nights you'll be enjoying...

Someone mentioned the lack of a Cookout in the area. There is, in fact, a Cookout just a few miles north of Brier Creek on 70. Most of the things to do around there have already been mentioned. If you're into bars with some good old white trash regulars and transvestite owners, check out Sharky's.

^That's typically what most people inside the belt line think, but there's actually quite a bit that goes on up there. Not to mention that in a few years, the way the area is building up, there will be just as much if not more to do up there as there is downtown.

what are you talking about man....lynnwood is great. they have awesome food (really good salads), drinks specials every day of the week, live music on some nights, and a patio outside. plus i can walk there from my house which doesn't really help you much but i like it.

Someone mentioned the lack of a Best Buy or Circuit City.

Best Buy is planning on opening a store in Brier Creek in the near future, but don't hold me to it because those plans have already been delayed more than once.

I've lived in N. Raleigh my whole life. If by "quite a bit," you mean RTP employees drinking beer and watching the game the one night a week they can get a sitter, I'd have to agree with you. I'm not knocking it--I love it here...

^ True, there are a lot of those types up there.

I live there too and have plenty of friends in their 20s who are out doing all kinds of things every night. I have four kids so I don't get to be one of them, but I know alot of them. I think it all depends on where you look. We can agree to dissagree.

I didn't think you were knocking it. The way I said that was easy to misunderstand. No harm, no foul.
