In 1884 with the Providence Grays he pitched a total of 678 2/3 innings with a W-L record of 59-12 and an ERA of 1.38 with 11 shutouts and a WHIP of less than 1

I swear to God all pitchers must've hated this guy...aside from being the all time record holder of most times being hit by a pitch, he was a tough bastard...check out what Ty Cobb had to say about him

Walter Johnson had FOUR three pitch innings. Since 1884, the three pitch inning has only occured 40 times.

He threw 531 complete games out of 666 starts.

thats because in today's game if a pitcher throws 2 pitches and gets 2 outs in an inning the third batter is taking a pitch if he doesnt want to get an earfull from his manager
