When in the hell did this happen! I just finished watching "The Long Game" on UNCTV. Apparently, they're now airing it every Saturday @ 11:00pm. They're finishing up the 3rd season in the UK, so we'll probably have a ways to go before we catch up.

Except they're all available on bit torrent from the UK.

And why the hell aren't you wolfwebbers into doctor who? It's GREAT... BUT IT NEVER gets discussed on here!

I've been streaming them from veoh myself. It's just nice to see it get some exposure in the US. The bonus part is that, since PBS doesn't have commercials and Doctor Who only runs 45 min, the last 15 min shows Doctor Who Confidential. It shows behind the scenes of the night's episode.

"The Empty Child" is coming on in two weeks. By far the creepiest season 1 episode.

God, I love doctor who so much

the newest episode (the actual newest), in England, involves the return of The Master, the doctor's arch nemesis!!!!

I know. I can't wait. Have you seen the previews? The Master looks like he will be evil in a giddy, eccentric sort of way. Should be interesting.

Yes. I think it is considerably worse than Doctor Who. I gave it a shot, and watched 4 or 5 episodes, but I had to stop when a Pterodactyl was attacking a Cyberwoman. Sh!t was ridiculous.

You're thinking of the old series. A new series started up in 2005 and is a lot more fast paced. I've been downloading them and watching them ever since they started back in 2005. There was a thread back then but it died in the summer when the first season ended. I just figured I was the only dtubber who enjoyed the show.

It's more like the 40-something-th season. That show's been on nonstop since the 1960's, except for a while in the 90's.

Well, I'm still kind of in the mindset of the two being different series. The "New" series is finishing up its 3rd season. If you were to count the classic series, this would be the end of the 29th season.

Recently got into Dr. Who. Saw the last two seasons and currently watching the third. I actually want to go back and watch some of the older stuff.

^I've tried to watch the older stuff, but the new seasons are just so much more exciting than the old ones. I'd love to get deeper into a lot of the back story, and I might eventually just try some of the novels, but so far I haven't found a good starting place to get into the older eps

The Doctor's story has been stretched out over 26 years. Hell, they didn't even reveal that he was a Time Lord until the 6th season. You'll probably get a better start by reading Doctor Who FAQ sites. Wikipedia has good, detailed articles about the characters.

If you want some good classic episodes to start with, try Pyramids of Mars, City of Death, and Mawdryn Undead.

Trust me, the show will grow on you.

yes, but that includes the 15 minute episodes from the first 4 or so doctors (there would only be like 6 or 7 plotlines a season, cut into 6 or 7 15 minute episodes... shouldn't REALLY count when you consider that)...

If it's not Tom Baker I'm not watching.

Tom Baker ftw!!

My Mom used to make me watch Dr Who when I was a kid and it was always the Tom Baker episodes, I was really freaked out by all the weird monsters but once I got older I started watching them again and I realize how cheesy they are , but the cheeseness is what ROCKS!

If you liked Tom Baker you'd probably be ok with the current Doctor. He plays it very similarly, with that "flamboyant, but with a strongly sinister undercurrent" flair...

Just finished watching "The Sound of Drums." It was totally off at some points. The Master zipping his lips, and the invasion scene with friggin' techno music! That's what got me the most.

Other than those moments, it was a meh episode. Is it just me or does it seem like Russell T Davies (the producer) makes the giant-scale invasions of Earth every season finale? First it was the Daleks, the the Cybermen and the Daleks, now the orb things. And he uses the same "armies forming a pattern to invasion" scene.

I still loved the thumbs up scene though.

yeah, I have to agree
seemed a little early to get rid of the master if you ask me

there was so much potential there for this to be more than just a flash in the pan, although with her picking out whatever that little thing was from the ashes we can be pretty sure he'll come back eventually

but will he be john simm?

yeah, I meant to go back and rewatch that part

it kind of makes me want to see all the eps with the face of bo in it again

I also want to see how the face of bo died again, because if it was who he said it was, it'd a pretty significant death

They've just confirmed that Catherine Tate (the bride from "The Runaway Bride") will be the next companion.

I don't know what to think about that. She was pretty annoying in that episode, but she could out to be a Tegan type character (mouthy, stubborn, bossy). I wish that they would put a male companion in the TARDIS. I'm getting kind of tired of the "falling in love with the Doctor" ploy.

I didn't care for the episode either, but I did like the chase scene. Still, though, might make an interesting dynamic between her and the Doctor.
