1976 Land Rover 101 Forward Control GS with 40k kilometers (24,800) miles. Runs on gasoline or propane (LPG). Former Dutch Military truck. The 110 will be gone this evening.... buyer in California is having a shipper pick it up...hes planning to do a 300 TDI swap, add fuel injection, add AC,replace the bulkhead and convert to LHD. Guy has like 7 rovers already, including 2-D90's and a LR3. Kids all drive newer Discoverys.

Actually, it gets around 12 mpg according to the owner, even more on LPG, which is better than my 110 or my Discovery did. The back is open, no seats or anything (yet)

Seller says it tops out at about 60, although can go 65+ on a downhill stretch.

I know a cat out in WF has one. They're kinda cool to wheel in. different.

Its a 101" wheelbase (9" shorter than my 110 was). It just seems longer because it doesn'nt have three feet of bumper and hood in front of it. That and with the lift and rack it looks really high (which it is). I am limiting what I am going to wheel...nothing extreme.... its too rare, center of gravity is high and probably top heavy with the rack.

I like the serrated/dimpled ring on the front wheel so you can get in it. that is a badass rig.

^^ haha. Now I have to do the 7 pin to 4 pin conversion like we did on the 110. At least it will be easy this go around. I also need to source a 50mm tow ball.

PS: Perhaps I should have named the Bluebird as an exception

xmls are cheap (compared to other offroad tires) if you know where to find them....

i really want a mog though

what would be a good diesel to throw in one for a lil more power.

yep. i'm only asking $700 for mine. 2 are ~95% tread the other 2 are basically 100%.

in comparison to a 35:

good diesel for a mog? i'd do a 4bt or 6bt. you kind of ruin all the coolness of the wild gearing they have though unless you come up with some sort of custom adapter. pretty sure they come in a diesel model stock though? benz diesels are solid generally speaking.

Well, the tires on mine are in good shape so it will be awhile before I have such a dilemma (I hope). Speaking of a mog, theres one in Chapel Hill for $10,500 in great shape. I drove it Sunday.

yeah, good luck ever getting them though. daniel is legendary in bad customer service, terribley late orders, never sending orders, and poor quality stuff. seems to be pretty hit or miss, either people are really happy or really pissed. mostly pissed.

Hell you can buy my lightweight for about the same. Or maybe even find something like my 101 for a little more. I'd be bored with a FJ40 in a month (well at this point). Probably not two years ago though.
