I am looking for some info online and cannot figure out which dept. to e-mail. I assume it is ITD but I haven't heard back from them.

I didn't take classes for awhile and recently decided to go back to school. I can get into my webmail with my old password, but when I use the ftp://username@ftp.ncsu.edu it says my password is not valid. I am hoping this presentation is still on there.

Who do I go to get figure out the problem?

ftp has been turned off on the unity servers, as it is insecure. You'll have to download something like winscp, or a comparable program that uses scp/sftp, instead.
