Saw the trailer for Hitman last night at Die Hard and as a fan of the Hitman series I must say I was pleased with how true to the game it looked. I was also pleased to see that they didn't cast Vin Diesel for the role of Agent 47. The bad guy in Die Hard 4 (Timothy Olyphant) will be playing him, although it seems that Jason Statham was born for this role. How many other Hitman fans will be looking forward to this?

I honestly think Vin Diesel looks better for the part. 47 is suppose to be a mix of several ethnicities. The guy they're getting for the role looks like another generic white guy to me.

I want to say that I can't wait for this movie to come out, but I can already tell they're gonna get the characterization all wrong. Or screw up some other important detail. Or all of the above.

Yeah i think you're right, Vin Diesel is Agent 47, I think he wouldve been a great choice. While the guy they did use has been good in the few movies I've seen him in, he doesn't look right for the part. I'm a fan of the games so I'll probably see it regardless.

Agreed. The kid looks too young to be hitman, and also 47 had a much longer face than olyphant.

I'm interested in it, but I'm sure it's gonna be another video game movie that turns out to be not much like the game and crappy in general.

That could very well be the case. But does Vin strictly do action movies? Would he turn down the idea of doing something more spy/stealth based?

I'm fucking pumped. I don't like the 47 selection, as stated on here, but who knows...maybe he won't look like a fucking little kid in Hitman like he did in Die Hard

Vin Diesel exceeds the weight category for agent 47. And Im afraid he would be to short to play the character. Agent 47 is a sleek, tall phantom of death. Statham would have been perfect. But the Olyphant actor is pretty close.

jason statham is 5'8", vin diesel is 6'+

still though, either one would be good. jason statham is pretty ripped himself, but a black suit is very slimming and i don't think would've been a big issue. oh well

I think the attitude is what I think of when I think of hitman. Sure he might pull it off, but I'm just thinking about all the movies both statham and olyphant have been in

Found these pictures through just a random search. He pretty much looks exactly like 47 in the second one. And Olyphant needs to lose the striped tie in the picture that Money_Jones posted. Usually I'm not picky about details like that but it is one of the main things that 47 known for and it isn't like it is difficult to come across a plain red tie.
