all i got to say is wow and it's about time. don't get me wrong, i'm all for making good time while on a trip but rarely do i go 15-over. drivers these days are doing too many other things instead of driving. people do need to slow the fuck down.
if you get a speeding ticket 15-over in VA not only do you have to pay the fine of the ticket and court costs, but you also get 6 points on your license and a mandatory $1050 tax added on!
so just a heads-up. slow the fuck down in VA. and NC for that matter. i'm tired of scooping up brains and body parts.

I think speed limits on most of the interstates should be raised to 80, or at least 75. There's no reason for the speed limit on most of 95 in NC to be 65 mph when most people can safely drive 75.

8th amendment: Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

you know, it only takes about 30 or so of those horses to go 70 mph

speed limits are slow because every one would shit themselves if we had a licensing program like the germans...americans arent going to pay for that

the interstate system is nowhere near the level as the autobahn...it is prohibitively expensive for that quality for 40,000+ miles of road

I had 2 70+ mph wrecks this year... one was completely my fault b/c I was an idiot and pushed beyond my limits in a industrial area(nobody but me on the road)... anyways lost control slid long ways... I started driving pretty conservatively after this... the feeling of a car sliding and the crunching/breaking glass sounds haunted my memory pretty hardcore... I deserved it, I was stupid.

2nd one was a month later... in a rental car while they were still trying to figure out if they could fix the first one... I was on my way to work one morning doing 70 in a 65 it had been raining earlier that morning but had stopped... A lady crossed over into my lane pre-merge lane and I tried to change lanes to avoid getting side swiped and fishtailed into a guard rail. and then bounced back out into traffic... somehow didn't hit/get hit again... but once again sliding at 70mph sucks...

Point being, shit goes bad very quickly at those speeds and then the whole momentum thing becomes a bitch... After the 2nd one, I constantly think back to the whole sliding/can't stop fast enough bit and whenever I see people flying by me doing 80+ I'm just think... idiots (takes one to know one though)...

Lots of words... point being, its one thing to do it on a track, you don't have innocent people around you, and unpredictable idiots... but shit goes bad REALLY fast at >70mph and its basically impossible to stop...

[Edited on July 18, 2007 at 6:51 PM. Reason : 70mph speed limit is not a bad thing... no faster though]
