My brother is going to UNC and he got a free laptop from their CCI department, but he already has one so I am trying to sell the new one for him. The computer is brand new. He just got it 3 days ago. He had to take it out of the box so the IT department could load up all the Microsoft software. Other than that it has not been used. It comes with all the instruction manuals and the original box. It has a 3 year warranty and a 1 year warranty on the battery. They also gave him the extended instead of the regular battery so it last about 6 hours without charge. It also comes with an Ethernet cord and a laptop lock which has not even been opened from the original bag.

They will not give him any money for it because he got a grant for the laptop... So if he returns it they will just consider it as him just denying the grant 7/16/2007 8:47:32 PM |

It's worth well over a grand, so I'm sure he's looking for at least that much. 7/27/2007 7:59:22 PM |

$650
Unless I missed something, I configured it on the Lenovo website and it comes to $955
ThinkPad R61 $856.00 Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7100 (1.8GHz 800MHz 2MBL2)[1] Genuine Windows Vista Home Basic[12] 14.1 WXGA TFT, w/o Camera Intel GMA X3100 GM965 w/ 1394 1 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz SODIMM Memory (1 DIMM)[8] 120GB Hard Disk Drive, 5400rpm[4] CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo 24X/24X/24X/8X Max, Ultrabay Enhanced[5] ThinkPad 11a/b/g Wi-Fi wireless LAN Mini-PCIe US/EMEA/LA/ANZ[10] 6 cell Li-Ion Battery[60]
With the 3 year warranty for $99, it comes to $955, and would be less with the student discount.
You can get a good deal on Thinkpads right now. I've been trying to decide between the R61 and T61 7/28/2007 1:36:08 AM |

Check http://www.slickdeals.com today for a R61 model for $473. Not quite the same specs as the one above, but close. 7/28/2007 5:22:27 PM |
