i can dl everything fine (port is 65050) tested through azureus fine and through random port testing as open

but unable to seed, my upload speeds across all configs is set to unlimited just to be sure

firewall is off (windows) and port is shown as "allowed" by router

Do you live in an apt complex that might limit torrent bandwidth?

check and see if azureus has some sort of encryption of the packets, like utorrent does.

that might help you.

Is uTorrent that much better than Azureus? I'm running Azureus and I also have vista and port issues.

i prefer utorrent over azureus.

You should also limit your upload to part of your total upload so you dont totally fuck your connection. Like if your upload cap is 45KB/s put max upload at somewhere between 35-40.

I ran azureus forever, while i like all the misc info and the cross-platform support i'll never use, it's just too much of a memory hog.

uTorrent uses hardly any resources, hell i can barely tell its running most of the time.

I'm about to apply for a job with Azureus as an interface/user experience designer.

And I have all the same problems, hence my move to uTorrent too

i was poking through the vista updates while i was installing them the other day and one of them was a big compatibility fix pack. Azureus was listed as one of the programs, so you might want to make sure you're up to date. I use uTorrent in vista and xp, so I dont know if it actually fixed anything.
