laguna seca ftmfwFunny story-I'm finishing up a track day at Thunderhill- hosted by the a local lotus club. During the last few sessions of the day, it starts pouring cats and dogs. The attendance for the remaining sessions taper off due to the reduced visibility and the hazard associated with standing water on track. After another session or two, the event was called off. The funny part is, it's noted in the elise factory manual that the car seals are subject to frequent and rather dramatic leaks. The solution, many guys had to get their friends to tape their doors/windows shut with painters/numbers with the driver in the loaded car, in preparation for their drive home. They're great track cars, but...Yeah. They're great track cars.

69, why not? I guarantee you will not find cheaper tires.

I still want one, or a 1 series. It couldn't leak much worse than a Wrangler anyway.

^We can't all be perfect. Some of them are actually quite good.

I'd actually prefer an Esprit myself. I just happen to like the lines so much more than either the Elise or Exige...I know the technology is inferior, but that's where I stand.I guess it comes from being an '80s child.

the esprit reminds me of the wiegert vector W8 TTThat car = sex.

I completely missed the other thread.Lotus had a car to spare and wanted to get involved with the project. I don't see that as a waste.

Proper Elise Appreciation: Love this story. Lotus Elise is named after Elise Artioli, the granddaughter of Romano Artioli, the owner of Lotus when the Elise was introduced. Elise was photographed sitting on the bonnet of the second Elise ever built, back in 1996.They just had a reunion where Elise was photographed with the very same Elise! Then Elise did some laps of Lotus' proving grounds in the top Lotuses of today, Exige Sport 410 and Evora GT410 Sport More details and pics: https://www.motor1.com/news/261156/lotus-elise-named-after-woman
