Been looking at Pupsi and Town and Country, any opinions? It says Pupsi is 22 a night and I can't find how much Town and Country is. We are leaving next weekend for about a week so it is also kind of short notice, so I don't even know if either of these places have availabilty.

Its looking like Pupsi or Petsmart now. Has anyone actually used Petsmart? I called the Town and COuntry and it is $28 a night for a 4x14 area and only 2 outside trips a day. THey don't get to do the daycare thing like Pupsi (Am I right, thats what Pupsi does with the boarded dogs during the day?) So, no Town and Country!

Camp Canine is completely worth it, though. Town and Country I've only heard nasty things about. I worked at Camp Canine and I assure you that you'll never find a staff more crazy about playing with and taking care of your dog. Plus, their main interest is to make sure your puppy gets tons of playtime outside and inside with other dogs.

Thats how Pupsi seems too and it has great reviews and is only 22 a night. We need to do it for about 7 days so:

Pupsi = $154
Camp Canine = $266

Thats a big difference. I wish Camp Canine wasn't so expensive or I would definately go there.

I truly believe that the Pet Hotel at Petsmart is the sole reason that my dog is now deathly afraid of people (especially men)

PetSmart is horrible.

I work at a boarding kennel, in Knoxville, and we only allow dogs to play with eachother if they pass an evaluation. check out and see what kind of process they go through to let the other dogs play with one another. Some dogs are just not meant to be around other animals.

Also, as a heads up, maybe you should get the bordetella shot before you go. There's no written material that supports a yearly shot especially if the dog is going to be in a high traffic area, ie vet office, dog park, or kennels.

We took my old dog to Pupsi and he was a mess when we picked him up 5 days later.

I'll never take him back there.

Call Michael Vick.

All I can say is you get what you pay for. I'm partial when it comes to Camp Canine. The owner has a tons of degrees/certs for dog behavior and training and such, and I know her personally as a family friend and she LOVES dogs. Plus, she is really strict and careful with whom she hires, and she has cameras EVERYWHERE to assure people are always being good to your pup. This one girl who worked there after me smacked a dog on the nose for jumping, and Suzanne fired her on the spot because she saw it over her camera. Camp Canine is also very careful with the playgroups.

But I completely understand. On a college budget, $266 is a lot.

Maybe you could go private sitter, just don't use the lady Jersey86 used

Camp Canine is definitely the best, but I understand if you don't love your dog enough to sacrifice some money for his comfort.

i boarded my dog at Petsmart for two nights once. it was $21 a night plus like $3 a day for extra play time or some crap. they said the base exercise is two walks a day. not bad i guess depending on what they consider a walk to be.

I felt a little iffy about the place and i'm sure it wasnt the greatest, but she came away happy enough and didnt seem traumatized.

I really hope you are joking. If I didn't love my doggie, I wouldn't care where I put her! I just want to find some place that will take good care of her and one that will allow me to still be able to pay my rent and bills this month.

I work at Mayfair Animal Hospital. I believe it's $22 a night for a run and three walks a day (food too). Then you can pay extra for additional playtime, ice cream, cuddles, etc.

We take our dogs to pupsi as well, and we know that they love it because of how the act when we pull into the parking lot. When we used to board them at the vet, they would freak out, start pacing, and cower when we tried to take them out of the car, whereas they start jumping up and down in the back of the vehicle and can't wait to get out when we pull up at pupsi... also the same way they act when we pull into the dog park.

When you're a dog owner, it's really easy to pick up on your dogs' emotional states. It's very obvious to my wife and me that they both love going to pupsi, so I'm willing to enter cary to take 'em there.
