See thread title. The sound is about half a second behind the video. This was not the case with my old TV. (also, this only happens with some DVDs)

The problem is also sometimes exhibited on certain HD channels. Others are fine. Very strange.

Any ideas?

Are you using HDMI?
Is the out of sync audio coming through TV speakers or through a receiver?

^Yeah i've seen receivers get the audio/video out of sync before. Most newer ones come with a ms time delay feature so you can correct this.

Didn't.

Anyways, I am running HDMI from the cable box, and component from my DVD player. All audio duty is through my receiver. I did not run any video through the receiver.

The odd thing is it only happens with a few certain DVDs. And only a few HD channels, although unlike the DVDs, which always behave the same, the channels sometimes work and sometimes don't.

The receiver's about eight years old. It does have a few delay options. I'll check when I get home.

Come to think of it, when I very first hooked it all up, and the factory default volume was up along with the stereo, I do recall that it sounded like being in a hollow chamber (echo).

But this hasn't ever happened before. Why should it start now? Anyways, I'll look into it when I get home.
