Bought these two a few months back on here and I'm trying to get something a little more exotic.
$40 will get you the tank with everything in it (heat lamp not included though) 7/23/2007 5:18:51 PM |

no camera, but its a 10g tank with substrate, coconut shells for hiding and a vine for shade. this is what they look like http://homepage3.nifty.com/japrep/tour/tokunosimahoguro.jpg 7/24/2007 2:05:56 PM |

they don't look like the picture you posted. I spent a year with these two little guys, I know.

I miss them and hope they go to a good home to someone willing to care for them and not get bored of them after a few months. They are great pets, and, as they are not native to this area and most people don't have them, I'd say they are quite "exotic."
anyone who wants some information about them and the species (such as the real name) just pm me. 7/24/2007 7:11:17 PM |

actually, they look like both. believe it or not, their color changes throughout the day from that darker color you posted to the lighter that i posted.
and you can buy these same geckos at petsmart labeled as house geckos.
and my new roomie is big in the herpetology area so i can get really good deals on nicer exotics now.
thanks though
p.s. you can buy them back for the original price i paid if you'd like. 7/24/2007 10:09:18 PM |

I know their color changes throughout the day.
I wish I could buy them back, but I got rid of them because of campus housing rules.
House geckos are from Asia, marbled geckos are from Australia (and I think there are some varieties in S. America). But I wouldn't be surprised about Petsmart labeling them wrong. 7/24/2007 10:16:19 PM |

either way
i have 2 geckos that i am looking for a good home for. now that we have the right setups we are moving to dart frogs and leaf-tailed geckos 7/24/2007 10:20:05 PM |

you are correct sir
These are a good starter gecko if you want something that is arboreal and more to look at rather than handle. Their aggressive feeding behavior makes them fun to watch as well. 7/25/2007 10:56:23 PM |

you could probably keep them on campus just either find out if your RA cares or hide it like 2x a year when they do inspections 8/2/2007 12:52:16 AM |
