That one vote is Steve Spurrier making fun of how ridiculous pre-season rankings are. I mean come on, they're never right. And instead of picking a school like Vanderbilt, or even his own school, he picks Duke because he used to coach there. Every year. Stop being surprised, this is not new information.

unfortunatley though, if you're preseason #1 or #2 and you run the table, you're probably gonna be playing in the BCS National Title game...if you're #10 or #15 preseason and you run the table, you're probably gonna get shitted out of the title game, a la Auburn a couple years back

playoffs aren't going to happen (despite the majority of people wanting it)....the best we can hope for is a plus one, and preseason polls could still have an adverse effect on that outcome.

why? BC is a proven team (I think BC should probably be in the top 25)....we, however, are not.

that's not to say that we won't have a better season than BC, which outlines the problem with pre/early season polls in the first place.
