sorry faithnomore, beardawg kind of locked your thread by accident cause of the duke thing in spite of TWW needing a thread to talk about the polls!

That one vote is Steve Spurrier making fun of how ridiculous pre-season rankings are. I mean come on, they're never right. And instead of picking a school like Vanderbilt, or even his own school, he picks Duke because he used to coach there. Every year. Stop being surprised, this is not new information. 8/3/2007 6:12:58 PM |

I don't buy UCLA at 17...I know they beat USC but they are not that good.
They don't have the talent to compete with Oregon, USC, Cal and the two Arizonas do they? 8/4/2007 12:09:25 AM |

Arizona State no. Arizona yes. Arizona is usually like the Ole Miss or Mississippi State of the Pac 10. Decent talent, but just not big enough to compete year in and year out. They might surprise everyone one year, when they catch every break and have a ton of returning starters. I'm not buying UCLA at 17 either. They are getting hyped b/c they beat USC. Well so did Oregon State, and they aren't getting as hyped as UCLA in most of the preseason predictions I've seen. UCLA is supposed to be bringing in what looks like one of the top classes for next year though. But yeah UCLA hasn't been good for a long time now. I remember that they played Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl in 1999.8/4/2007 12:48:22 AM |

UF lost a lot of good players (particularly defenders) so ill be interested to see how it goes. the harvin, tebow run game should be fun though. 8/4/2007 12:01:34 PM |

the Pac-10 is USC and then a bunch of garbage
cowherd was saying something the other week about looking at the top 25 recruits every year for each conference...he said in the pac-10, usc gets probably 20 or 21 of their top 25 recruits for the conference...he said in the big 10 ohio state and michigan each probably get about 10 of the recruits...and he said in the sec, damn near everybody gets 2-3...which is why the SEC is the best...even though they are kind of homo] 8/4/2007 1:12:04 PM |

imo, the sec is always underrated b/c people are careful not to overrate them. you always think that they can't be as good as they seem, but they really are. 8/4/2007 1:15:32 PM |

^^^ Then laugh at the old ball coach's face. That one issue has been discussed like 5 million times on TWW.
And Brass Monkey Arizona actually has a pretty good team this year and are getting better each year under young Stoops. 8/5/2007 12:21:11 AM |
