My favorite reggae band is The Mighty Diamonds but I've always had a hard time finding their music. They wrote "Pass the Kouchie" which has my favorite Reggae baseline of all time. It was later butchered in the 80's by Musical Youth.

Everything I've heard from them, I love.

^ I can't believe I'm saying this but all of Sinead O Conner's reggae material that I've heard is pretty good.

Let me add:

Toots & the Maytals
Greggory Isaacs
Alpha Blondie
Bunny Wailer
Jimmy Cliff
Black Uhuru

As an aside, I recently saw The Harder They Come with Jimmy Cliff on the El Rey network. I'd been wanting to see it for years.

It's not a great movie, but it was really interesting and I enjoyed it.
