Fedor?

I also felt Vitor Belfort was pretty dominant for a while several years ago.

then, of course, you could make a case for various Gracies and Shamrocks.

im vitors biggest fan, but he was far from dominant

in fact, he was pretty one dimensional for a long time and by the time he decided to utilize his BJJ, his head was far gone from competition due to his sister and his pursuit of boxing

Fedor is the most dominant hands down, keeping in mind we arent talking about best p4p or anything

no one really comes close to Fedors dominance over top, highly varied MMA stylists, the closest would be BJ Penn in terms of the numerous sorts of competition hes faced...hes only lost 4 fights and doesnt fight anyone not in the top ten at some point

yea, when one says "dominance" i cant imagine anyone other than fedor

other than Frank Shamrock, which honestly is a solid choice he simply retired at the wrong time. OK Matt Hughes dominated for awhile but had an obvious glaring hole in his game (striking) unlike the 3 i have mentioned who are more than proficient in all phases regardless of what rules are in place in any given organization

sorry for the long post

ok, looking at his actual record, i guess he was really good, but never exactly dominant. it sure seemed like he couldn't lose for a while back in the day, though. maybe it's because he really destroyed several opponents really quickly (the most spectacular, of course, being against Wanderlei Silva).

i always felt like, for the period, he was pretty well rounded, though. Obviously he was a great boxer, but he beat up on a lot of people on the ground, too. Don't remember him throwing many kicks, but he had killer hands and did pretty good work all around on the ground.

but yeah, i think the loss of his sister hurt him a lot. i'm also not sure he did himself any favors by getting bigger--he seemed a lot quicker in his earlier fights when he was smaller.
