^^ I know a guy who did that. When he finally lost his license, he messed with a Ford 3000 diesel till it would run over 40 mph.

the 3000's aren't but about 40 hp, but with no suspension and tractor brakes I imagine it was a wild ride. I'd like to know how he did it though- it'd probably be fun to do once. 8/6/2007 5:11:18 PM |

^They might be only 40 hp, but the old Ford gassers are only around 20 to 25. 40 ain't too shabby compared to most of the ones I'm used to!
I don't know what kind of injection pump the '70s Fords used, but they were most likely something like a Stanadyne/Roosa Master, and not really that hard to turn up if the pump has enough total capacity. 8/6/2007 5:26:43 PM |
