How do you cope with it?

I haven't tried Rogaine yet, but is there a more permanent solution other than the doc?

Rogaine will only protect what you have left.

buy a clipper, use the 3/16" guard.

I don't know if it helps, but I use a leave in conditioner every other day to help out my scalp and make my hair soft.

Ask State409c for advice.

Or one of his new aliases.

Don't ask me for any advice. Unlike the average person, my well being and self esteem isn't tied to the lack of hair on my head.

In fact, I'm pretty sure my ego grew when it was no longer constrained by hair.

Rogaine will actually probably make you lose more hair at first... then it grows in much finer. Its not the fix that people expect. If you have mild hair loss then you are better off not using Rogaine. Its more effective for the traditional male pattern baldness in full effect.

The only real permanent solution is surgery (hair plugs). Its expensive but sense you are insecure enough to buy overpriced Apple products to enhance your image then its probably right up your alley.

Get over your insecurities. Hair loss happens to pretty much everyone and you only end up looking like a douche when people catch on that you are running from it.

Yeah I have pattern baldness.

How the hell do you include Apple in this discussion? I like Macs because they make me more productive.

It doesn't necessarily bother me, but if I can take a pill once a day with my others to prolong the actual loss, it's worth paying for the prescription.

But once it finally goes I'm not gonna get all down about it.

work out. fit confident bald guys are attractive; skinny / fat obsessive bald guys aren't.

for me the worst part is going to be the "in between" when it all goes on top, I'll rock the Robert Duvall / Hunter S. Thompson look, but in the middle, it just looks like you're holding on.

all in good time..but to be honest, why worry about an aspect of your body you really don't have that much control over. Like someone else mentioned, work out, stay fit, lose a couple lbs, etc.

I have been using Nioxin for more than a year now...costs me $50 a month.

It just increases hair density, and the barber finds it hard to run scissors on hair, but does nothing to regrow/stop hair fall.

You need to take that $50 a month and put it towards a personal trainer, I think you'd have better results in the chick department.

Just guessing.
