Don't be a fucking dick.
He asked for a good reason: you've posted an ambiguous want ad, perhaps because you aren't entirely clear on terminology? If you aren't really caring what sort of flat panel (LCD or CRT), just say so. If you want a thin monitor like in campus computer labs, you want an LCD. If you want an older style, clunky monitor, you want a CRT.
I've got a spare 21" flatscreen CRT that I've been itching to get rid of. But if you're only interested in LCDs, then there's no point telling you this. Just because a phrase typically applies to one over the other doesn't mean it's safe to assume that's how you meant it.
In any case, better to have too much info than too little.8/20/2007 10:59:22 AM |

Dude specifically mentioned "flat panel", and CRTs are not flat panel. 8/20/2007 11:10:08 AM |

look at the second and third posts. what the hell is an LCD that is not a flat panel? many people incorrectly interchange the terms "flat screen" and "flat panel". it is clear that his interpretation of "flat panel" is not standard.
maybe he does just want a traditional LCD monitor. maybe he wants something like a 50" 1080p plasma with a DVI input... or that 108" LCD that was unveiled recently.
i mean, seriously, what the fuck does he want?] 8/20/2007 11:26:23 AM |

yeah ok, flat screen and flat panel are two different things. Flat panel is what you call an LCD. And why am I the idiot when Seotaji is asking "like lcd?". Sorry, but you're pretty fucking stupid if you don't know what flat panel is.8/20/2007 1:54:01 PM |

you're just digging yourself into a hole now. "like lcd?" was not a stupid question to ask because there is more than one flat panel technology. your response is what was stupid.
and you STILL haven't said what the hell it is you want.
1. what kind of connection? (DVI, VGA, hdmi, component, etc.) 2. what size? 3. price range? 4. condition? (i.e. do you care if it had a dead pixel or not) 5. what are you going to use it for? (slow response times are bad for gaming, low contrast ratios make it difficult to differentiate dark colors) 6. widescreen or 4:3?] 8/20/2007 7:22:31 PM |

I don't care what it is. I just want to see what people, hence the reason for a brief post. Dumbass 8/21/2007 8:57:34 AM |

LimpyNuts, just back off dude. You got owned.
I mean, I have never seen a Plasma Computer Monitor...sure you could use a plasma tv as a monitor, but then you'd be a dumbass to assume that that's what he's looking.
Also, dead pixels, type of inputs? Really?
Next, you'd want him to type out a legal disclaimer at the end of his post, too.
Just give it up, and walk back home. 8/22/2007 9:45:05 AM |
