Just use one of the travel sites and do a hotel search around a landmark like the stadium or FSU's campus.

^^ Also I used to live in Ft. Walton Beach, but that was back in the early 90s. I've heard that it has blown up since then and is very touristy now, especially the Destin area.

i dont have any names, offhand, but be prepared to pay ridiculous prices for anything in or around tallahasee. they jack the prices up insanely high for games....and they are hard to come by.

The beaches in that area are quite nice, the area is decent. Just know that Ft. Walton/Destin is a good 2.5-3 hours from Tallahassee, and you can add a little more to that if you're heading out of town after a game.

As for the hotels, book as early as you can. The good ones sell out a year or more in advance for all the home weekend games. Try Thomasville, Cairo, and Bainbridge (all in Georgia) if you have trouble finding something in town.

just to let you guys know...the only two hotels I found in Tallahassee seemed like roach motels and they were like $110/night. We are staying in Jacksonville cause we got a hotel for $59/night thats pretty nice...Jax is like an hour-hour and half away...

What rwoody said. It's about 2.5 hours normally, since the stadium in Tallahassee is well off of the interstate. But traffic on game days can be rough when you get into town. Doak Campbell is very close to downtown Tallahassee, and those downtown roads weren't meant to handle that kind of traffic. Leave REALLY early to ensure that you're there in plenty of time.

Ha ha yeah right. It is atleast 2 hours assuming you are leaving from west Jax. My parents live east of Jacksonville and both my little bro and sister went to FSU and it always took my parents 3 hours to get to Tally.

Plus when you factor in gameday traffic around FSU, you are definitely looking at 3 hours.

two years ago at Florida State it took us (cheerleaders) about 2 hours to make the trip and that was with a police escort from jax to the stadium at FSU.
