I have a 97 Grand Prix. I'm moving to CA in a couple of weeks and trying to decide on what to do about my car.
I've never had a problem passing emissions tests here in NC, but I hear that the tests are much more stringent in CA. How can I find out if I'll have a problem passing the tests in CA?
Has anyone had any similar experiences? 8/21/2007 9:09:27 PM |

well either your car has the CA emission package for that model year or it is 49 state legal, look up the VIN and see 8/21/2007 11:26:55 PM |

you will have no problems registering your car from out of state. doesn't matter if your car has the CA package or not. as long as it meets federal emissions standards, you're good to go.
as long as you can pass smog check.
BUT i don't think you can sell it to someone within ca unless it's modified to CA standard. 8/22/2007 12:06:38 AM |

besides not having a check engine light, do they do a sniffer test too? 8/22/2007 11:49:04 AM |
