10 RBIs tonight! just hit a grand slam
Angels record (beat Vlad Guerrero's previous record of 9 in a game)
not sure about major league records but I wouldn't be surprised if this was the most RBIs by one player in a game this season at least
EDIT:
after checking http://www.baseball-almanac.com/recbooks/rb_rbi1.shtml
American League record is 11...set by Yankees Tony Lazerri in 1936
National League record (MLB record) is 12 in a game set by both Jim Bottomley of St. Louis in 1924 and St. Louis' Mark Whiten in 1993!
btw for the non baseball fans, 10 RBIs by one player in one WEEK would be considered a great week

yeah he would be up 5th next inning if the Angels get a few on...hypothetically if he was up with the bases loaded, an intentional walk would still tie the AL record as you get an RBI if you are walked with the bases loaded
[Edited on August 22, 2007 at 1:08 AM. Reason : *AL record] 8/22/2007 1:07:49 AM |

Whitten had 4 homers whenever he had his 12 rbi's
and I believe Nomar had 10 rbi in a game a few years back 8/22/2007 1:08:44 AM |

I had the game on and was doing something on the comp, and overheard them say he already had 6 RBIs and had a chance at the Angels record
I thought "yeah but he'd have to hit a grand slam for that"
Next pitch, out of the ballpark 8/22/2007 1:09:19 AM |

A-Rod had ten RBIs a couple of years ago at the Stadium against the Angels. He hit 3 HRs, and I think they all came off of Bartolo Colon. Anyway, that's a great feat by Anderson considering he only had 40 RBIs before last night. 8/22/2007 9:42:22 AM |
