My whole family got licenses as a means of communicating..(better than walkie talkies)

I don't own my own rig..always used my father's..i'd have to ask them what they all are

I got my General license at the end of May and just upgraded to Extra at the end of July. I'm still waiting on my paperwork to come back where I applied to become a VE.

I don't have any HF equipment, but my neighbor/cousin back home does, so I go over there to get on hf. What I'd like for now is the Yaesu FT-857d, because of it's size. It's also a pretty great radio.

Since this started as a ham topic, I've got a ham related question.

I need an SMA female to PL259 male to adapt an antenna with a SMA connector to plug into a mobile/base radio. I have an RCI-2950, nice microphone, and a box of other stuff I haven't used for a while. I'd be willing to part with for a reasonable price if anybody is interested. I think the RCI-2950 has a 26-32 Mhz range.
